Resting Outdoors on Natures Bed of Grass & Leaves

Resting Outdoors on Natures Bed of Grass & Leaves

I’m love those daytime dog naps …they are the best – just pure relaxation… so I am off to showcase a few of my favorite looking handmade rugs, because I think I’d love to take a dog nap on one of them… just what I need a special place for me to rest my head. Hey – maybe you can never have enough shoes, well – I can never have enough places to rest my head.

The red penny rug featured below is handmade by Jaja8.etsy.com.

  1. I like butter, lots of melted butter.
  2. I will lie down and wait for my food for as long as it takes, and am very patient while mom is cooking.
  3. I get depressed if I haven’t been given the family food, only my own kind ;(
  4. I chase squirrels.
  5. I am so cuddly, that is all I want to do – cuddle.
  6. I pee and poop in the morning, daily.
  7. I am very good at landscaping the garden.  In particular, I like to pull weeds (tomato plants) and keep the garden pruned.
  8. I play with large sticks – love it when they are thrown for me.
  9. I grew up playing soccer, but I love to chase a thrown ball – the farther the better.
  10. I tire easily.
  11. I am famous on the bike path.
  12. I cry when I am sad.  I do.  Sometimes it is just a wrinkle up of my jowls with a turn downward of the wrinkles around my eyes, this means I am sad.  My 3 year old brother will say “Oh you are so sad –  Oh I love you”  And then I feel better.
  13. My family means everything to me, they love me and I love them .
  14. Some of my talents include these little “tricks” – I can sit, shake hands, and lie down!
  15. I run to people I meet and then sit , all shaky with excitement, waiting to be pet under my chin.
  16. I have issues with brissles.  I cannot tolerate having a straw broom in my house – it will be shredded.
  17. I enjoy a good brushing.
  18. I bark like crazy when I am not in the mix, or right there next to my family members when they are in the house, unless they disappear upstairs then I can handle it… but I get all anxious if they are in the living room, and I am in the kitchen.
  19.  I tell stories with my eyes.
  20. I have some other human traits – I snore & I pass gas.
  21. When I pass gas, I get a little concerned – I’m still not too sure what that is all about yet.
  22. I run and jump and have the most fun possible in the snow – I love the snow so much.
  23. I run and jump and have the most possible fun with the kids – I love the kids so much!
  24. And one more… after this… I love all the attention I get, and can always have more….
  25. I am a happy dog.

I just wonder what happens to the towels at the White House when a Presidential Term ends?  I’m sure they’re probably given to charity or something… but if not, why couldn’t the towels become a quilt for a dog bed?  If  not my dog bed, then why not upcycle the towels for the presidential pooch?

These quilts can simply be called  something very un-simple Truly Americana, Truly Upcycled Towels, yes putting those towels to use and crafting them into something finer – actually what did become of President Bush’s towels?  I’m sure they are not reused by the next Prestident… hmmm… maybe they are given to charity, or maybe the towels went to Texas.  But I’d love to have a handmade quilt made from those towels (cleaned of course) – they can be cut into squares then sewed together in a prim style…. maybe shapes of stars… or some old apple trees…    …sounds comfy to me.  …for me these wouldn’t have to be plush, I like to just rest my head on flat blankets really – thought I love hopping onto the ottoman for extra comfort.

I’m a dog, so I don’t have those people issues, you know for me, I wouldn’t think this is gross… though I do cross the line with some upcycled/recycled things such as what was discussed -jokingly ?!? – during this thread on an etsy forum

hmmm…

It might seem like an unintentional bark, or a sudden jerk of my voice, but it is SO planned!  I am very keen on understanding what the humans need in order for me to get on that couch! It really is quite simple. I’ll bark out the loudest bark and run to the front door – at this point I don’t want to panic mom too much, so I hold back on jumping at the door window.  OK… I captivated her attention and I can see she’s a bit concerned at what might be beyond that door, outside, in the dark…  hmm… that couch is looking good, I can’t wait to snuggle up by her feet.  Yes!  She moved over a bit, and I am golden.  Who cares if I am a little too big, my head hangs over the side on the couch, her feet are warmer now that they were before.  So I am a happy dog… and I only had to bark out two loud ones this time!!!

Yay! I'm on the couch!

Yay! I'm on the couch!

I’m sitting here thinking about all the lead tainted children’s toys and thought, heck, what about our chew toys. Who is monitoring those? Anybody?
I read an article on how lead ingestion for dogs can cause seizures! But how on earth are we being protected?
My main toys are giant rawhide-type bones to chew. But in the summer, my favorite ball to chase is a golf ball – mostly because I can hide it in my jowls – oh and I can shred it! But the article refers to golf balls as having lead! ?!?!?! I can’t believe it! Is there something I’m missing here?
Maybe my seizure activity was due to chewing on those balls! My backyard used to be a mine field of old golf balls, from the previous owners of this house! It was like finding a treasure whenever we came across one!

An so it goes… I am totally consumed by my surroundings… so anything off will put me off so to speak.
I barked all night, indoors, and outdoors.

I don’t need perfection, just simplicity and consistency.

A feng shui of sorts.

Yes a feng shui of sorts.
